The Maynards Point site is located on a ridge overlooking the spectacular Port St Charles Yacht Harbour development on the West Coast of Barbados.

The road to construction has not been smooth for this particular development as Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander Ltd, the development bank funding the Maynards Point project, had to call in the Receivers. This meant that funding for the construction of this project was no longer available and forced us to revisit our strategy for the site.

This presented us with a set of fresh opportunities that were unavailable to us when construction for the site first commenced. St Vincent were quick to explore and optimize this to ensure that the investment returns for the project are maximized.

In December 2008, the St Vincent Group commissioned Terra Caribbean to undertake a high level comparative study of the development options available for the Maynards Point development. The optimal option recommended by Terra Caribbean was to re-develop the site and construct 4 large luxury villas or private houses.

Financing for the re-development of the site is currently being devised and negotiated. A course of action of how the development of this site will be optimally progressed and financed is expected to be clarified in Q2 2009.

A major part of this re-assessment follows the appointment of Gillespie & Steel architects as architects for the scheme.
